We are excited to announce our new manufacturing method and configurations called Snap Tray.
What is Snap Tray???
Snap Tray is an innovative method for manufacturing and combining mini content for our Trenchworx brand of products and those of our B2B customers.
Deep in the resin mines located in Sandy, Utah, USA, our team of skilled model makers have developed an easier way to manufacture our multi-part kits entirely by 3D Printing. The kits are fun and quick to assemble. Our Trenchworx Blend of resin brings out every stunning detail and has just the right amount of stiffness and flexibility to work for even the most heavy handed modeler. We've also focused on the economics of the products and each tray is packed with content that will satisfy even the most value minded gamer.
The final nifty feature is how you remove the parts. You simply grab the part, gently rock it back and forth and the piece will 'snap' off the tray. We worked on making very small contact points for the supports so that removal is easy and provides some very satisfying feedback!

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, but how's it work???
What we have developed is a tray of Content that has parameters that fit our process from start to finish. We want to provide complete kits of models and have room to throw in some extra goodies to make that kit really special and fill that modelers itch at a great value.
The D-Day squad above is a great example of models with some extra punch in the kit. This one comes with 10 Sandy Beach bases as well as a couple of Czech Hedgehogs. Even the box standoffs are useful as Teller Mines for any terrain you might be inclined to create for your tabletop.
That's cool, but this must be expensive?!?
That's what really gets us excited! Because we focused on our material costs, workflow of the 3D printing process and maximizing content that we put on a Snap Tray, we've got the perfect combination of Content for Value Minded Gamers and Modelers. Have a look around the shop and I'm sure you will agree! Who doesn't need a platoon of THREE FT-17s or Rolls Royce Armored Cars for $50!
But 3D Prints have prints lines...
Ours don't.
But seriously, we've worked to minimize lines and we think our process and material is superior to our traditional resin. If you do find a line (and we want pictures or it didn't happen!) then a nice coat of primer will smooth that right out.

This is cool. What is next?
We intend to have weekly releases until we get a majority of our content converted. Old resin models we have will go on sale and the new Snap Trays will take their place with some additional goodies. We are looking to step through our models with the kits that we think will be the fastest to implement. I can't wait for that section of Marders & crew or the half track platoon to get swapped out!
Even our LuchaDOrx got in on the action.

Some Fun History...
We've been 3D printing models since August of 2012! It's hard to believe that its been 13 years and we've progressed from layers that were 0.013" and heavily stratified FDM down to 10 microns with perfect finish in a UV cured resin. Printing technology has dropped from tens of thousands of dollars to less than $250 to accomplish the same tasks! A bottle of resin in 2013 cost twice as much as a decent resin printer today. A bottle of decent resin now cost a little more than a gallon of milk!
In all this time, we've printed millions of parts whether it was a small bit, a complete dragon or even a life sized 14' Allosaurus and we've ran hundreds of thousands of print jobs.
